iPhone 2020 will receive a unique processor and a screen with a frequency of 120 Hz
It’s almost a year before the announcement of the next generation of Apple smartphones, but now there are more and more rumors about upcoming updates. Recent leaks have confirmed that the 2020 iPhone will be radically improved not only in design, but also in terms of technical equipment.
According to Nikkei, the new flagships of Apple will be the first owners of a unique processor produced by the 5-nm process technology. Compared with the current 7-nm, it will be reduced by 2 nm. In theory, this should have a positive effect on the autonomy of the iPhone, and its performance.
The processor of the new smartphones will be supplemented by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which will provide the opportunity to work in fifth-generation networks around the world.
Representatives of the DigiTimes publication also noted that the 2020 iPhone will receive ProMotion screens with a frequency of 120 Hz. Moreover, unlike the same iPad Pro, it will be an OLED matrix, not IPS. At the moment, all the top iPhone models are equipped with screens with a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
The transition to 120 Hz should be noticeable in a smoother animation of the system, when watching videos and in games, the developers of which will add support for increased frequency. At the moment, only a few gaming smartphones have 120 Hz screens, including Asus Rog Phone 2 and Razer Phone flagships.
